103 sixes in eight innings and a total of 2311 runs. If this is how the ODI series between Windies and England panned out then what lies in the store in the T20Is? Expect a lot more sixes and a lot more runs as the two teams face each other in the first T20I on March 05th.
And in this WI vs ENG 1st T20I these three players will be the ones to watch out for as they can emerge as the match-winners for their respective teams.
Jason Holder the captain was bang on money in the Test and the ODI series and now in the T20I series, Windies would want Jason Holder, the all-rounder to step up.
Holder’s bowling can be a big plus in the T20 format as his extra height and ability to make the bowl seam can prevent the batsmen from hitting the big shots.
A long batting line-up may not offer him the ideal opportunity to showcase his batting prowess but even then expect the Windies all-rounder to shine with the bat as well.
A handy medium pace bowler, a terrific fielder and a big-hitter. Andre Russell is the ideal T20 player and hence he would be a big threat for England in this series. Russell can wreck havoc especially in the death overs and this is one area where England bowlers have struggled in the recent past.
Thus, watch out for the Windies batsman in the second half of the innings as he can change the game single-handedly with his lusty blows.
With Jason Roy, Joe Root and Jos Buttler stealing the show in the ODI series, Alex Hales now has the chance to make his presence felt. He scored a fifty in the ODI series but failed to make the most of his chances and now as the World Cup approaches he knows that he needs a strong performance to keep his place in the ODI team intact.
He was in blazing form in the BPL and he would love to extend his purple patch in the T20I series as well.
