Windies captain believes spinners will be useful in the second ODI
Windies cricket captain Jason Holder believes that the pitch for the second ODI against India at Vizag will assist the spinners and has also stated that historically spinners have done well on this pitch. The second ODI between India and Windies will be played on October 24th.
Holder expresses his views on the pitch
While speaking with the media on the eve of the second ODI, the Windies captain said that he had a look at the wicket and there is no grass on it. He noted that spinners tend to do pretty well here. He also feels that the wicket might suit a little bit of spin.

Speaking about his team’s spin department, Holder accepted that their spinners didn’t do as well as they would have liked in the last game. For this, he gave the credit to the two Indians who he believes played outstanding knocks.
However, Holder feels that Devendra Bishoo came into his own in the second spell and he believes the wicket of Kohli is crucial for his confidence.
The Windies captain explained that it is important for Bishoo to be a bit more expressive and look to take wickets and he feels Ashley Nurse just needs to build more pressure and take one or two wickets in the middle overs.
Holder expects openers to do well
Holder was asked about the unavailability of Chris Gayle but the Windies captain said that he is just focusing on what they have to do and that is to play cricket here in India with the squad that they have selected. He mentioned that they have got young Chandrapaul Hemraj and obviously Kieran Powell at the top of the order. And he feels that hopefully these guys can get them off to a really good start.
