Rayudu says Dhoni helped him in recovering

Team India batsman Ambati Rayudu has showered MS Dhoni with praises ahead of the Asia Cup and has hailed the former Indian captain as the the go-to man for everybody in the team.

Rayudu was speaking with the media ahead of India’s match against Hong Kong on September 18. The right-hand batsman said that Dhoni has also helped him in recovering from injury this season.

Rayudu was in incredible form in the last season of IPL and during that time too he admitted the help offered by Dhoni who was Rayudu’s captain in the IPL.

Courtesy of terrific performance in the IPL, Rayudu made a comeback in the national team and was selected for the England tour. However he failed to clear the yo-yo test and was subsequently dropped from the squad.

Rayudu now has cleared the yo-yo test and is back in the team for the Asia cup.

Rayudu admits Virat’s absence is a loss

The right-hand batsman admitted that the Virat Kohli is a big miss and loss to the team. But at the same time Rayudu reminded that they still have enough quality in the team to go out and win.

India have rested Kohli for the tournament as the Indian captain is playing international cricket with little or no break from continuously since the last few months.

Don’t want to put more pressure on my game: Rayudu

India are still struggling to get their middle order in place ahead of the world cup 2019 and players like Rayudu are in contention.

When asked about it, Rayudu said that to be very honest, he hasn’t thought about it middle-order or looked at it as a competition.  He also added that it’s just an opportunity to express himself and he doesn’t want to put more pressure to his game by thinking about it.

India will play Hong Kong on 18th September and will then lock horns against arch rivals Pakistan on 19th September.
