KKR vs SRH: Who will win?

Both teams who are yet to register a win in IPL 2020 will lock horns with each other in Abu Dhabi. KKR and SRH had a dismal show with both the bat and ball in the last match and will be hoping to bounce back. SRH is heavily dependent on Warner and Bairstow to score the bulk of their runs, without timely contribution from the rest of the teammates this would prove to be a herculean task for these two. KKR on the other hand has a well-balanced squad but decided to field an un-orthodox eleven in the last match. If they can get their best eleven on the field today, they stand a better chance to defeat SRH. If you are in for online IPL betting, place your money on KKR.

Strength

Kolkata Knight Riders:

  • Even though they failed to deliver in the last match, they have a strong batting line-up. One of the best on paper.
  • The promise that young Shivam Mavi showed in the first match is a huge positive.
  • In Narine and Russell, they have two genuine T20 superstars who can win matches singlehandedly.

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

  • The best opening pair among 8 teams. Record of Warner-Bairstow speaks for themselves.
  • Well settled bowling unit.

Weakness

Kolkata Knight Riders:

  • The pace bowling department is the biggest worry for KKR. As of now, they have the worst pace attack among 8 teams.
  • Death bowling. New recruit Pat Cummins doesn’t seem like he’s suited for death bowling. It puts added pressure on young Shivam Mavi.
  • The form of Kuldeep Yadav is a huge worry for KKR. He has been struggling for form since the last couple of years.

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

  • Worst middle-order among 8 teams. After Warner, Bairstow, and Pandey, there are no good enough players to inflict greater damage on the opposition.
  • SRH have good enough young finishers in their squad, in the form of Virat Singh and Abdul Samad. Despite that, they decided to bench them for the first match. If that continues even today, they don’t stand a chance to win this match.

Win Prediction

  • KKR- 55%
  • SRH- 45%

KKR VS SRH MATCH PREDICTION

Going into this match both teams have a lot of problems to address. The most important among which is team selection. SRH who had a dismal show with both bat and ball will have to make significant changes to their batting line-up. Despite having enough bench strength they decided to field one of the least favourable combination in the last match against RCB. With Marsh being ruled out due to injury, either of Kane Williamson or Mohammad Nabi is expected to replace him in the eleven. This is expected to provide much-needed support to the weakened middle order. Along with that either of Virat Singh or Abdul Samad, who can provide the power game is expected to fill in for young Priyam Garg. In the bowling front, the only expected change is Khaleel Ahmed coming in for Natarajan. Even after all these changes, SRH’s chances depend heavily on the bulk contribution from their openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. If they don’t fire, SRH doesn’t stand a chance.

Another team that stunned everyone with their team selection was KKR. With lots of options available at stake, they too fielded a less favourable eleven. Despite failing in the first match, their power-packed batting line-up is expected to be retained for the next match as well. Their bowlers were all over the place in the last match and hence it calls for much-needed support in that department. And as for that fast bowling all-rounder, Kamlesh Nagarkoti is expected to fill in at number seven ahead of Nikhil Naik

, who is a complete misfit in that eleven. With Pat Cummins firing in with the bat, this change is most likely to happen. On paper, they have a fairly good team and should be able to outcast SRH. But if the bowling is to remain on the same page as that of the last match, then they’ll be taken to cleaners by Warner and co.

KKR Playing 11: Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Sandeep Warrier/ Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav

SRH Playing 11: David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson/Mohammad Nabi, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad/Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Khaleel Ahmed/ T Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma

  1. David Warner is an IPL legend. His consistency speaks for himself. Moreover, he has a great record against KKR. He should be your ideal choice for captain in fantasy leagues.
  2. Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Rashid Khan are match-winning players. On their day, they can hurt any opposition. Leave them out of your teams at your own risk.
  3. Young Shivam Mavi showed great promise in the last match. With the rest of the bowling not up to the mark, the chances of him taking more wickets are quite high.

KKR vs SRH Toss Prediction and Pitch Report

Dew once again is going to a decisive factor in the toss. As Dhoni said yesterday, even though 6 out of 7 matches were won by the team batting first, the teams are expected to not lend an eye to that stat and will be keen to respect the conditions at stake. Hence captain winning the toss is still expected to field first. The wicket has even covering of grass and could assist both seamers and spinners equally. Anything below 150 should be easy to chase down.

Predicted Score:

If Kolkata Knight Riders bat first: 160-170

If Sunrisers Hyderabad bat first: 140-150
