NZ vs SA Prediction: After a gargantuan win in the first Test at Hagley Oval, New Zealand are back to lock horns with South Africa in the second and final Test scheduled to commence from January 25 (Friday). The last outing was no less than a horror show for the visitors, but more than the loss, it’s the manner of defeat that would’ve hurt them more. Being put to bat first, South Africa were bundled out for 95, courtesy of a 7-for from medium-pacer Matt Henry. Capitalizing on the home conditions, New Zealand then posted a majestic 482 on board, with Henry Nicholls (105), Tom Blundell (96) and Henry (58*) scoring the chunk of runs. In the second innings, the Dean Elgar-led side tumbled – by huge margins – at the hands of the Kiwis to eventually be dismissed for 111, thereby handing themselves a defeat by an innings and 276 runs. Though New Zealand have the form in their stride and they are the giants in these conditions, yet, South Africa should be optimistic to at least put up a fight in this fixture.

As per NZ vs SA Today Match Prediction, batting shouldn’t pose that big a problem as was the case in the first Test. There’s going to be plenty of sunshine over the course of the match, which should allow the batters to settle down and get the runs incoming. Once again, pacers will be dominant at every stage of the contest.
For New Zealand, left arm-quick Trent Boult is still unavailable, as he hasn’t had much training for this Test. It’s unlikely that the hosts would tinker with the winning lineup. For South Africa, one could witness Aiden Markram being dropped from the side, considering he hasn’t delivered any notable performance in the last five Tests. As a result, left-handed batsman Ryan Rickleton, who has 10 hundred and as many fifties in First Class, could find his way in the playing 11.
NZ Playing XI: Tom Latham (c), Will Young, Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell (wk), Colin de Grandhomme, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, Matt Henry
SA Playing XI: Dean Elgar (c), Sarel Erwee, Rassie van der Dussen, Ryan Rickelton, Temba Bavuma, Zubayr Hamza, Kyle Verreynne (wk), Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Glenton Stuurman, Duanne Olivier
