Key players for England vs India, Sri Lanka vs South Africa, West Indies vs Bangladesh

The top-ranked ODI sides – England and India – lock horns in the first of a three-match series at Trent Bridge tomorrow. In other International fixtures, South Africa begin their tour of Sri Lanka in the first of a two-match Test series while Bangladesh play for pride in the second and final Test against West Indies.

Here’s a look at the players who can make an impact in these fixtures.

England vs India:

Jos Buttler has been phenomenal with the bat across formats in the last couple of months. A successful IPL campaign, followed by runs in Test and later in the limited-over formats, Buttler has been unstoppable. Going by his heroics, he will be key for England’s chances in the series.

Hardik Pandya has produced an exceptional performance with the bat as well as the ball in the recently concluded T20I series, particularly in Bristol. He is the X-factor and if he clicks, there would be no stopping India.

Sri Lanka vs South Africa:

The availability of Rangana Herath has given Sri Lanka a massive boost. Given his record in the Sri Lankan conditions, he will be the biggest threat for the touring South African side.

Dean Elgar is the most prolific batsman for South Africa in the long format in the last year – averaging 51.63. The gritty opener can prove to be a hurdle for the home team to cross.

West Indies vs Bangladesh:

Shannon Gabriel has been a revelation! The speedster has grabbed plenty of wickets and looks in the best rhythm to wreck a havoc on Bangladesh batsmen.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan is the only hope for the Bangladesh that fizzled out in the first Test. If he leads from the front, Bangladesh have a chance in the game.
