Then England team fell short of 103 runs, with Rory Burns hitting a century to post a respectable total in the 1st innings.

Tim Southee diving catch to dismiss Rory Burns

The New Zealand team declared when they scored 169 runs for a loss of 6 wickets, with the biggest contribution of 36 coming from Tom Latham. They set a target of 275 for the England team to chase down on the last day of the test match. The hosts have not performed well with the bat and their batting order once again tumbled with the superb bowling of visitors. The centurion of the last innings Rory Burns fell to the out-swinger of Neil Wagner that was caught by Tim Southee at second slip. The ball was dipping into the ground and Southee did a terrific job to pounce onto the ball.
