After an incredible 2019 cricket season, the Indian National Cricket Team are set to go through a hectic schedule in 2020 as well. A lot of home series and away tours awaits team India alongside the much-awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia. The year will start for Team India with a home series against Sri Lanka and end with a tour to Australia.

ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2020

Team India’s major focus in 2020 will be to win the ICC T20 World Cup. India under Virat Kohli has achieved almost everything except a major ICC trophy. So its quite obvious that Kohli, Ravi Shastri and the entire team would be eyeing at nothing less than the trophy this November.

The Indian team will travel to Australia for the major event. They will start their campaign against South Africa on 24th October, with their next opponent being England on November 1st. India also have Afghanistan in their group.

India’s tour of Australia in November- December

 The calendar year will end with a series against Australia. Following the World Cup, India will stay in Australia to play four Tests, and three ODIs. Last time, the Indian team won the series to create history under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. This time, the series is going to be a special affair, with a pink-ball Test expected to play. India would be eyeing nothing less than series wins in all the formats they play in Australia and to keep up their winning run.

India’s Tour of New Zealand on January 24th – March 4th

 After a long time, the Indian National Cricket Team is going to play a full-fledged series against New Zealand in their backyard. When these two met last time around in a bilateral series, the Virat Kohli-led side triumphed in the ODIs, while the Kiwis came on top in the T20Is. On the whole, India are set to play five T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests against the hosts. India would be eyeing for glory in New Zealand.

With these high profile series and World T20 happening, along with Asia cup the India cricket team is about to have a hectic schedule in 2020. It will be interesting to see how the team cope upto this hectic schedule while trying to attain glory in all these main events.
