The Indian cricket has given several stars to the world of sports over the years. If we sit and analyze each decade since the national team came to exist, then surely we will find many match-winners in each of those decades. But, we have sorted and made a list of just 5. The list has been made considering the who has won the most number of man of the match awards in the history of Indian cricket.

Without further to do, let’s jump into India Fantasy’s pick of 5 Biggest match-winners India has produced:

1. Sachin Tendulkar

“Sachin, Sachiiiiin”, those were the chants of every Indian fan through the 90s, 2000s and early 2010s. Sachin Tendulkar is hands down the best player that India has ever produced. His impact on the game was so much that, there was a time when people used to believe that if he gets out then India will lose the match. In case that statement doesn’t define a match-winner, then nothing else can. If there is a book ever penned on the entire Indian cricket history, this man deserves one entire chapter.

2. Virat Kohli

In Sachin’s last innings for India, he got out for 77 and Virat Kohli came into bat. It’s almost metaphoric. As if the baton was passed on. Clearly, Kohli hasn’t disappointed anyone until now. The way he has been scoring centuries at will, he might, in fact, beat the great Tendulkar in terms of the number of international centuries. Kohli is the best batsman in the world right now and at 31, we believe he can achieve many more heights which haven’t been reached until now.

3. Sourav Ganguly

If we look back at the ground root and question who started to make the Indian team great again, it would be this man. Sourav Ganguly has done it all. From scoring runs to being the golden arm to take wickets to captaincy and building a team. The fact many players credit him for their successful career makes him a complete match-winners. He was a great player, but more than anything he had an eye to spot a great player.
