The Indian girls on Sunday endured a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the red hot Aussie womens who were thoroughly dominant at the night of the final. The massive expectations that the whole of India had on the women’s team were broken into pieces when they lost very badly in the finals.
A world cup final against the host nation is always going to be tricky and that too, the mighty Australians being that nation made it even more difficult for the Indian women’s team. Indian girls were confident of a win against the Aussies after beating them in the group stages but the inevitable has happened.
The former Indian opener and popular commentator Aakash Chopra never misses to express his opinion in his twitter feed now-a-days. After the agonizing defeat in the finals, the former opener has said that India lost only one game in the whole of this WT20 campaign and so is Australia and both teams lost to each other, one being the finals and the other being the tournament opener.
India lost only one game in the tournament. So did Australia. Both teams lost to each other. India beat Aus in the tournament opener. Australia beat India in the finals. Such is life…. #WT20WC #AusvInd— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) March 8, 2020

A fan from Pakistan had commented to the tweet reminding the 2017 champions trophy scenario to Aakash Chopra for which Aakash Chopra kicked back with a fitting reply.
How many knockouts did your team play since that final? Men and Women included. Jinke ghar sheeshe ke hote hain voh light jala ke kapde nahin badalte, dost ? https://t.co/xUiL4hIePP— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) March 8, 2020

The Indian international team is searching for an ICC trophy since 2014 but with no luck. The men’s and women’s combined have reached almost all the knock out stages but couldn’t go on to win the trophy.
Since 2014, India finished in the top four in 11 of the 12 ICC top tier tournaments, but won the title only once.
2014 WT20 2015 WC 2016 U19 2016 Women’sT20 2016 WT20 2017 Champions Trophy 2017 Women’s World cup 2018 U19 (Champions) 2018 Women’sT20 2019 WC 2020 U19 2020 Women’sT20
Out of those 12 ICC tournaments, only Prithvi Shaw’s U19 team went on to become the champions. A team with high caliber and potential stumbling in the pressure situation is something that needs to be looked after by the BCCI as soon as possible.
