After registering a thumping win against Ireland in the first ODI, Afghanistan will be high on confidence in the second ODI. The bowling department has delivered as expected but the team would like their batsmen to take some more responsibility.

On the other hand Ireland have plenty of questions to answer and unfortunately they haven’t succeeded yet.

In the AFG vs IRE 2nd ODI these three players will be the ones to watch out for as they have the potential and the form to make a big impact.

#3. Rashid Khan-

Even after three T20Is and one ODI, Ireland have failed to crack the Rashid code. The leg-spinner has enjoyed tremendous success so far and he looks good for delivering another punch in the second ODI.

Rashid has been terrific in the middle overs but it will be interesting to see how he bowls in the middle overs if Afghanistan in defending a low total.

#2. Paul Stirling-

The opening batsman was the only positive for the visitors in the first ODI. What was impressive was Stirling’s immense self-belief which enabled him to hold on to the battle till the 50th over.

Most importantly he handled the spin well throughout the innings and came out unscratched. And this will give him huge confidence when he comes out to bat in the second ODI.

Hence Ireland will be expecting him to deliver yet another impressive performance and who knows if the opening batsman gets support from the other end he might play a decisive innings.

#1. Mujeeb Ur Rahman-

The young off-spinner was literally unplayable in the first ODI and if he gets some support from the wicket in the second ODI he could most probably end up doing the same.

Mujeeb’s accuracy and his ability to read batsman’s mind makes him a huge threat and it will be interesting to see how Ireland counter him.
