As cricketers are being quite active on social media platforms engaging with the fans amid the pandemic, this time it was India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who got into the act.
In a recent live session Ravi Ashwin had picked former Indian captain MS Dhoni as the one of the most toughest batsman to bowl in the T20 format as well as in the death overs. He also spoke highly in regard of his ability to dictate the game while on the crease.
The 38-year-old, wicket-keeper batsman has often been termed as one of the most lethal hitters of cricket ball across all formats. MS Dhoni without a doubt is also considered as a fine finisher in modern day cricket. Though Dhoni might be edging closer to retirement, he still has few games left in him where the Chennai Super Kings skipper can unleash his true worth.
Ravichandran Ashwin was an integral cog in the wheel for MS Dhoni in his CSK Days as they also ended up tasting glory. Ashwin might have made his move to Punjab and now the Delhi Capitals, but he still considers MSD as a force to be reckoned with in T20 cricket.
Toughest batsman to bowl to in T20, I always rate MS Dhoni to be one of the greatest T20 batsmen, especially towards the end,
MSD one of the greatest captain India has ever seen, one of the greatest captains IPL has ever seen,
Ashwin further added.
It’s nearly a year since the cricketing world saw MS Dhoni in action. The last international game that he featured in was the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup of 2019 where he scored a half-century.
The former World Cup winning captain was expected to be in full swing for the CSK outfit during the IPL, but recent pandemic has now suspended the high-profile tournament indefinitely.
