Azam Khan weight loss story: ‘Lost 30 Kgs in 12 months’ and received Pakistan call up

Azam Khan weight loss: The Pakistan Cricket Board recently announced the Test, ODI and T20I squads for the forthcoming tours to England and West Indies. One of the fresh prospects who has been recently introduced to the Pakistan T20I squad is Azam Khan. Azam Khan is the son of former wicket keeper batsman Moin Khan, and has made a mark for himself in the PSL.

Azam Khan weighed around 130 Kgs before, but is now on the right track as he has lost 30 kilos in the last 12 months.

Mid way through his training, Khan did talk about his experience and sacrifices that he has to make in order to get into shape.

“I’m not allowed to eat any junk food, just the high protein diet and back coffee. I’ve lost 14 Kilos and I thought I might lose strength, but the way Shehzar (his trainer) took me through training, it was motivating that I now feel fit and more powerful”

Azam scored 98 runs from the five games that he featured in PSL this season, while, having a staggering strike rate of 144. In the previous edition, the youngster scored 150 runs from nine matches which caught the eye of selectors. However, in spite of his hard hitting ability with the bat, there were plenty of talks about his fitness and weight in general. Azam Khan also expressed his delight of representing the nation and was quite emotional about it too.

The 22 year old is still doing a lot in the gym as he looks to make an impression for the national team in the days ahead. Azam Khan is a key member of the Quetta Gladiators and has looked decisive with the bat whenever given the chance.

PSL New Schedule 2021

Khan will be aiming to continue his good form in Abu Dhabi as well, since the second half of the PSL is being moved to Abu Dhabi. The first match will take place on June 9, with the final scheduled to be held on June 24.
