Captain Virat Kohli had requested the management and administrators to allow the wives of cricketers to stay for the entire duration of an overseas tour. The Supreme Court appointed a Committee of Administrators (CoA) which revealed on Sunday that they were not going to take any immediate decision on the request.
The CoA informed that they were leaving it up to the new office bearers. The said that the policy was not going to change now. This reply came after the media covered Virat’ request to the BCCI.
Earlier, the BCCI had announced that wives and girlfriends of Indian cricketers could be allowed to stay for a maximum of two weeks while the team was overseas. The CoA has also asked the manager of the Indian team, Sunil Subramanium to make a formal request for the rule to be changed.
