Ben Stokes catch: Team India have displayed a bit of grit in the fourth T20I, by posting a fighting target of 186 for the fall of eight wickets. There were plenty of visual spectacles on display in the first innings, ranging from Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer’s six to Ben Stokes blinder of a catch.
It was the penultimate over when Mark Wood was bowling to India’s specialist all rounder Hardik Pandya. After bowling two dot balls, the express fast bowler banged it in hard on the deck once again.
The Mumbai Indians batsmen tried slicing the ball over the mid off region, but it was Ben Stokes who yet again displayed his athleticism with a brilliantly taken catch. Stokes has taken plenty of top catches in his cricketing career, and this one to send Pandya back to the pavilion was certainly in the list.
The Men in Blue will be pleased with the score that they posted and will be massively pleased with efforts of newcomer Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav started off his innings in grand manner by striking a six to Jofra Archer on the very first ball. The specialist batsman was oozing in confidence and played a sublime knock of 57 from 31 deliveries, with six boundaries and three sixes to his name.
However, he was dismissed in fairly controversial manner, as a catch by Dawid Malan at deep fine leg made him walk back to the dressing room. Suryakumar Yadav scooped the ball, as Malan rushed in to claim the catch. The third umpire did adjourn the batsman out, in spite of the masses not agreeing with the call. It will be interesting to see how England pace their innings as a series win awaits for the visitors.
