Jake Fraser CATCH: The 11th edition of the Big Bash League T20 2021-22 is currently underway and we have already witnessed some wonderful moments in the past couple of days. The defending champions Sydney Sixers opened the tournament with a comprehensive 154-run victory over Melbourne Stars in the first match. In today’s BBL match, the Melbourne Renegades registered an amazing 2-run victory in a thriller of a game against the Adelaide Strikers in Melbourne.

While chasing a target of 154 runs in the second innings of the game, the Adelaide Strikers got off to a fine start with the opening duo of Matthew Short and Jake Weatherald adding 45 runs for the first-wicket partnership. Melbourne Renegades left-arm chinaman bowler Zahir Khan dismissed Short in the fifth over. However, 19-year-old Jake Fraser-McGurk then stunned everyone with an outstanding one-handed flying catch on the mid-wicket boundary line to send back Jake Weatherald. Jake Fraser’s amazing athleticism near the boundary line is already being claimed as the best catch of this summer in the BBL.

Big Bash League T20: Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Melbourne Renegades posted a challenging total of 153 for 9 in their quota of 20 overs. For the Melbourne Renegades, opening batter Mackenzie Harvey played a crucial knock of 56 runs off 46 balls while James Seymour smashed 23 runs off 14 balls. For the Adelaide Strikers, skipper Peter Siddle picked up three vital wickets while George Garton and Daniel Worrall finished with two scalps each.

The Adelaide Strikers’ batting line-up struggled a lot against left-arm chinaman bowler Zahir Khan who claimed excellent figure of 3 for 24 in his quota of four overs. However, the Strikers fell short of chasing down the total by just 2 runs as the experienced James Pattinson bowled a superb final over where he defended 9 runs.
