Abdul Samad Catch

Abdul Samad Catch: The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are currently taking on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Match No.28 of IPL 2021 season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. SRH have already strolled into the limelight with their big decision of appointing Kane Williamson as the new captain for the remainder of the season and David Warner has now lost both the captaincy duties and his place in the playing XI for this game against RR.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Sunrisers Hyderabad did get the early wicket of Rajasthan Royals’ opener Yashasvi Jaiswal but the duo of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson completely dominated the proceedings. Buttler and Samson compiled a sensational partnership of 150 runs for the second wicket with the former playing a great attacking game dispatching the SRH bowlers in all parts of the ground. However, Abdul Samad then took an absolutely brilliant catch while making a perfect high jump just inside the boundary rope to send Samson back into the pavilion.

RR vs SRH Today IPL Match:

Samson managed to score 48 runs off 33 balls that included 4 fours and 2 sixes. However, the star performer from the first innings was Jos Buttler who played a terrific innings of 124 runs off only 64 balls that consisted of 11 fours and 8 sixes. Buttler’s maiden IPL century powered the Rajasthan Royals towards a massive total of 220 for 3 in their quota of 20 overs. Riyan Parag also played a useful cameo of 15 runs off 8 balls towards the end. It was really a poor day at the office for the majority of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowlers as they ended with quite expensive figures. However, leg-spinner Rashid Khan bowled excellently well registering fine figures of 1 for 24 in his four overs. It will be difficult for the SRH batting line-up to chase down this big total but they would be aware that Mumbai Indians did defeat Chennai last night at the same venue while chasing an almost same score.
