David Warner Not Playing RR vs SRH: The biggest decision was supposed to come and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have taken the hard call on dropping senior batsman David Warner from the playing XI for the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Yesterday, the SRH team management announced a shocking development with regards to appointment of Kane Williamson as the new captain of the side for the remainder of the IPL 2021 season and now Warner has lost the captaincy as well as his place in the side.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, the new SRH captain Kane Williamson stated that they have made 3 big changes to their playing XI for this game against RR. The trio of Mohammad Nabi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Abdul Samad are back in the side in place of David Warner, Siddarth Kaul and Jagadeesha Suchith respectively.
“We are going to have a bowl. After a few conversations with guys who have played here, we think it should be a consistent surface. Three changes: Nabi, Bhuvi and Samad are back. Warner, Suchit and Kaul miss out on this one. We know that as a group we need to come together and build on the positive parts. It has been difficult, but we need to pull together now. This captaincy change is very sudden, so I just need to pick up and make the small adjustments which hopefully will reflect on the result. The goal for the last half of the campaign is to improve our performances. There are many areas we need to improve, wickets in the powerplay is one. We have to do our best with our resources and it’s important we adjust to the conditions,” said Kane Williamson during the toss.
SRH Playing 11 (Confirmed)
On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals have also made a couple of changes to their playing XI as the duo of Anuj Rawat and Kartik Tyagi have been included in the team instead of Jaydev Unadkat and Shivam Dube. Anuj Rawat will be making his IPL debut in the today match against SRH and it will be interesting to see his performance as he has done fairly well at the domestic level.
