It seems like a change in batting position has done wonders for Jos Buttler both in the ongoing IPL and the upcoming England summer. In the first half of the IPL, he was really struggling with his form but once when he was asked to open the innings for Rajasthan Royals, fortunes changed for him and his team and he scored 5 half centuries on the trot for his side.

His batting heroics and his mettle to take the match out of the hands of the opposition has earned him a call into his national test side as well. He last played a test match Englandland against India in Bangalore in the year 2016 and now his stellar show in the IPL has rightly earned him the call up which he richly deserved.

Although it is a blessing in disguise for Buttler and Stokes, it would come as a severe blow for the franchise of Rajasthan Royals as they would now be carrying forward their IPL campaign further without these England stars. After a disappointing show against KKR they desperately need to win their remaining two games if they want to seal a berth in the play-offs.

“Jos is an exciting talent, who is already a central part of england’s white ball cricket. The selection panel feels that this is the perfect moment to reintroduce Jos to test cricket, where he already enjoyed some success, including a stint playing as a specialist batsman at no 7. Jos is playing with great confidence and flair, and he will bring unique qualities to the test team “, the chief selector Smith said.

England will be playing Pakistan in their home for a 2 match test series starting from May 24 in Lord’s.
