IPL Covid 19 News: CSK Bowling Coach Lakshmipathy Balaji And Two Other Yellow Army Members Test Positive For COVID-19

IPL Covid 19 News: It seems Covid-19 has broken into the secured bio bubble of the Indian Premier League. Following the news that some players from Kolkata Knight Riders fell ill, including Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins, it’s being reported that Chennai Super Kings CEO, bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji and a bus cleaner have also contracted the virus. In more blow to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), five members from Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) ground staff also tested positive for the coronavirus.

As per reports emerging in media, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan and a bus cleaner are the other two members, along with bowling coach L Balaji, from Yellow Army’s contingent who have got the virus. All three will be taking a fresh test to ensure the first test didn’t produce a false report, and should it come out positive, they will be asked to move into isolation for 10 days and can join the team only after two negative tests.

It has been reported that Chennai Super Kings have cancelled their practice session following the Covid-19 development.

Barring the aforementioned CSK personnel, players and all other members have returned a negative test.

Earlier it was reported that three players from the Kolkata Knight Riders team were tested positive for Covid-19. Australian speedster Pat Cummins. along with Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier are the players returning a positive test. KKR were scheduled to play Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday, but the match has been called off due to the latest development.
