Delhi Capitals won the toss and asked Punjab Kings to bat first. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul gave good start to their team as both the batsmen added 122 runs for the first wicket in just 12 odd overs. Mayank Agarwal got out for 69 runs off 36 balls while KL Rahul scored 61 runs off 51 balls. In the end Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran couldn’t score quick runs and the cameos from Deepak Hooda and Shahrukh Khan helped Punjab Kings to post 195/4 on the board.
In reply Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan gave a good start to their team as the openers added 59 runs for the first wicket. Arshdeep Singh sent Shaw back for 32 runs, Steve Smith also fell for just 9 runs but Shikhar Dhawan kept his team in the game as he was scoring runs for fun and his 92 runs knock made the chase easy and in the end Marcus Stoinis’ cameo of 27* runs off 13 balls took Delhi Capitals to home in the 19th over.
