Who won today’s IPL match?: Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) locked horns with each other in the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After being dominated in the last game against CSK, the Faf du Plessis-led side staged a great comeback to thump the Delhi based franchise by 17 runs and registered their 4th win of the season.
After being put to bat in at Wankhede Stadium, RCB suffered a havoc at the start as they lost top three in Anuj Rawat (0), Faf du Plessis (8) and Virat Kohli (12) for just 40 runs. Glenn Maxwell then rescued his side’s innings with a brutal fifty but after his wicket, RCB were lost tottering at 92/5. However, the match witnessed Dinesh Karthik special. The keeper-batsman scored unbeaten 66 runs to help his side post a mammoth total of 189 runs. He was supported well by Shahbaz Ahmed, who scored unbeaten 32 runs.

Chasing the target, DC openers Prithvi Shaw (16) and David Warner (68) gave their team a perfect start and scored 50 runs in just 5 overs. After both the openers got out, DC were in a comfortable position. But Mitchell Marsh struggled with his timing to put his side under pressure. He scored 14 runs in 24 balls to leave DC tumbling at 112/3 at 14 overs. Rovman Powell and Lalit Yadav then followed him too and fell early. Skipper Pant then brought his side back in the game with his 34 runs in just 17 balls but a sensational catch by Kohli saw him back in hut. Josh Hazlewood then closed the game for his side and returned with the figures of 3/28 to win the match for his side.
RCB wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik was adjudged Player of the Match in today’s match against Delhi Capitals (DC). Coming to bat at 7 when RCB was tumbling at 92/5, Karthik played one of his best knocks. He took charge to DC bowlers and smashed them over the park. Karthik finished the game on high for his side and helped his side post a total of 189 runs on the board after a poor start. The senior Indian batsman scored unbeaten 66 runs in just 34 balls including 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Two matches are scheduled to take place on Sunday (17th April). In afternoon game, Punjab Kings will take Sunrisers Hyderabad at DY Patli Stadium in Mumbai whereas Gujarat Titans will take on Chennai Super Kings at MCA stadium in Pune in evening game.
