Dinesh Karthik’s hilarious comment: Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik is having quite a time in the broadcast room, and is being lauded by fans all over for his knowledge in the game and articulation.
After voicing it out in the WTC Final, Karthik was added to the Sky Sports Panel for the England vs Sri Lanka ODI Series. It was in the second ODI between the two teams, where Karthik, once again stumped his co-commentators and the rest of the listeners through his hilarious take.
It was Joe Root who was batting in the second innings, and requested for a change in bat from the dressing room. Seeing that, Karthik took a dig on batsmen all across the world by stating;
“Batsmen are not likings bats, they go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat, and bat’s are like a neighbor’s wife. They always feel better”
Sri Lanka batting first set up a target of 242 for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. It was Sam Curran who stood tall by picking up five wickets, while, David Willey complimented him by claiming four wickets. In spite of losing 4 early wickets for a total of 21, Dhananjya de Silva’s knock of 91, as well as decent support from Dasun Shanaka, who scored 47, along with a few 20’s at the lower order, got Sri Lanka to a respectable target.
However, the hosts, England started off in their usual fearless manner and eased their way to a win by eight wickets, with seven overs to spare. Jason Roy scored a quick fire 60 of 52, while, Joe Root and Captain Eoin Morgan ended up scoring 68 and 75 runs respectively.
