England tackled Kuldeep really well: Virat Kohli

By Shalini Singh @Shalini_Singh15

England bounced back from their last defeat and won the second Twenty20 International against India by five wickets.

Alex Hales smashed an unbeaten half-century (58) to help his side level the series with their opponents.

England promised to come back stronger after assessing their loopholes and they managed to do their homework.

One of the high points of the last game was the way England dealt with their recent troubles against spin.

England batsmen managed to play Kuldeep Yadav well.

The left-arm wrist spinner looked unstoppable in the first match in Manchester as he took five scalps to dismiss England’s key batsmen. However, in the second match, he couldn’t get a single wicket.

They played Kuldeep Yadav very well today, and that was the difference in the middle overs this time,” said Virat Kohli, the India skipper.

“We fought well but England were better than us,” he added.

Hales, who was dismissed early (8 off 18 balls) by Kuldeep Yadav in the first match, put his best foot forward on Friday.

“The other day was just a bad one at the office.”

“They played Kuldeep carefully,” said Yuzvendra Chahal, who returned with the figures of 1/28.

“They judged which ball to play and which one to leave against Yadav. They picked the balls to leave and the ones to attack. But I believe we bowled well in the game,” added Chahal.

“Alex is brilliant in T20 cricket. He has played a lot of T20 cricket for us and he is a seasoned campaigner. An innings like that gives him a pretty strong case for the next game against India,” said Eoin Morgan, England skipper.

“I believe our bowlers bowled really well. David Willey set the tone for us,” he added.

“Jake Ball bowled three really good over for us on his debut and they all hit their lengths very well. It presents an opportunity of taking wickets and they did it well,” he added.
