The test series between India and England has been quite entertaining due to the on-field performances and sledging incidents throughout the course of the match. Both the teams are inspired to do well in the test series, given its the first series of the new World Test Championship Cycle. The England team would look to take confidence into the Ashes series scheduled later in the year, while Indian team want to have a nice ending to the England tour after the WTC final defeat.
There are always the risks of injury issues, when the team is on a long overseas tour. After the WTC final, Shubman Gill succumbed to injury, while Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar injured themselves during the practice matches ahead of the test series.
This time around, its the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who has found himself at the wrong place. He posted an update about his hospital visit on his Instagram story and captioned it as, ” Not a good place to be at”.
He is said to have suffered the knee injury on the second day of the 3rd Test match during a fielding effort at the boundary line. The all-rounder will have a total of 4 days to recover and feature in the next test match.
The 4th test match is scheduled to be played at Kennington Oval, London and is expected the assist the spin bowlers. It is likely that Ravichandran Ashwin will be given a chance and can replace the struggling Ishant Sharma in the 4th Test Match.
Here’s what captain Virat Kohli said at the post-match presentation about including another spinner for the next match,
Playing another spinner would depend on the pitch and we’ll take a call later. It depends on the moisture and how it will hold up for the five days. The pressure from the fourth seamer is important sometimes and sometimes we have to make sure taking only three seamers means that the spinners have to come in quickly.
