Hardik Pandya‘s heart must have been pounding when he dropped Ben Stokes. You could excuse him for thinking about the possibility of Stokes playing a similar inning as in the last match. But luckily, Stokes couldn’t convert the opportunity.
Natarajan bowled a full toss and Stokes could only hit it low and towards the leg side where Shikhar Dhawan didn’t fluff his lines and gave Stokes a sending in his own typical style. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put on a century stand in India vs England 3rd ODI match, with the latter scoring a quick-fire half-century. Sharma played a run-a-ball inning of 37 runs, while Dhawan ended up on 67 runs off just 56 balls.
But the alarm bell soon rang as India lost three wickets in quick succession. Sharma was first to depart at 103, with Dhawan, Kohli and KL Rahul all following the course.
But Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya took the fight back to England. The duo together put on 99 runs in just 11 overs.
