Ben Stokes reaction: In a Super Sunday, India is playing England in a ODI series decider at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. It is an important encounter for both the teams as the highly entertaining IND vs ENG ODI series is currently even stevens at 1-1. On a flat batting wicket, after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India have still posted a fighting total of 329 runs in 49.2 overs.

After a brilliant opening stand, England fought back strongly with the wickets of Rohit, Dhawan, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in quick succession. The duo of Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant brought India back in the game with an excellent stand of 99 runs. But then after their wickets, India’s progress in the first innings once again slowed down. However, Shardul Thakur while coming on to bat at the No.8 position smashed Ben Stokes for an incredible six down the ground during the 45th over. In a hilarious reaction, Stokes was even seen checking Shardul’s bat after that tremendous shot.

India vs England: India slump towards the end in front of superb death bowling

Shikhar Dhawan’s impressive knock of 67 runs off 56 balls provided India with an explosive start at the top. Then after the top-order wickets fell in quick succession, Pant and Hardik took the attack against the England bowlers smashing them all around the park. Pant played another terrific knock of 78 runs off 62 balls while Hardik scored 64 runs off 44 balls. However, after their dismissal, India’s lower-order batsmen failed to extend the innings as the hosts were bowled out for 329 runs in 48.2 overs. For England, Mark Wood was the pick of the bowlers picking 3 wickets for just 34 runs in his 7 overs. Adil Rashid also took two vital scalps while the rest of the bowlers finished with a wicket each.
