The right-hander represented his country in 33 ODIs, from 2006 to 2011, and notched up 1541 runs at a staggering average of 67.00. His average was mainly boosted due to his 9 not outs. The former Dutch player also has 5 centuries and 9 nine half-centuries to his name.

2. Rassie van der Dussen – 65.65

Rassie van der Dusssen is considered as next big thing in South African cricket. The right-hander has the second-highest average in ODI, which reveals his mettle as a player. Although he’s still in his early days but in his short career so far, he has played some quality cricket. The Proteas batter has scored over 1000 runs in 29 matches at an exceptional average of 65.65. In his career of 29 matches so far, he also has 9 half-centuries and 1 century to his name.

3. Virat Kohli – 59.04

Arguably one of the finest batters to have graced the game of cricket, Virat Kohli has the third-highest average in ODI. 4. Babar Azam – 56.92

Babar Azam is one of the most versatile batters that Pakistan has ever produced. The Pakistani skipper has already achieved a lot of success in his career till now. Having debuted for the country in 2015, the right-hander has played 83 ODIs for the nation so far. He has scored 3985 runs in the 50-over format at an average of 56.92, which is the fourth-highest average in ODI. His tally of 3985 runs includes 17 half-centuries and 11 centuries.

5. Michael Bevan – 53.58

One of the greatest finishers to have played the game of cricket, Michael Bevan has the fifth-highest average in ODI. The left-hander many times bailed his team out of trouble and put them in a comfortable position. The Aussie batter played 232 One Day Internationals and in those matches, he amassed 6912 runs to go with six centuries and 46 half-centuries. It’s fair to say that Australia still hasn’t found a finisher like him.
