Punjab Kings Covid Donation : The covid cases in India skyrocketed from the first week of April and several states started to report their highest cases since March 2020, since the onset of the outbreak. The few states which reported a record number of cases were in a strict lockdown and the cases have started to cool down due to minimal public interactions. But, still, the risk is very due to the active number of cases and daily deaths in the country. The IPL 2021 was postponed due to the outbreak of covid cases in the different teams.

Punjab King COVID Donation

The franchises have been quick to realize the importance of oxygen concentrators, ICU beds, and ventilators in these times of pandemic. Initially, the Rajasthan Royals donated 7 Crores to the COVID relief fund. Then, cricketers like Pat Cummins, Brett Lee, Jaydev Unadkat, Nicholas Poooran and Shreevats Goswami came forward to help the country. The other franchises have been following and have started to donate as well. The Punjab franchise has started an initiative for the COVID relief fund named “Project SAAH” and has accumulated around 70 Lakhs until now. They have set a goal of 2 Crores for helping the patients to breathe properly. The tweet was posted by the official handle of Punjan Kings on Twitter.

When can IPL 2021 restart again?

The postponement of IPL 2021 has raised many eyebrows on the window available around the year for restarting the tournament. It was reported that if the IPL does not get completed, BCCI is set to lose 2500 Crores. September month was taken as a month to start the IPL once again, but the busy schedule of other countries can not make it happen. It will be a long haul for the IPL 2021 to restart again due to the pandemic and busy international schedule.
