ICC T20I rankings: Indian bowler jumps 14 places

India players have gained immensely in the ICC player rankings after whitewashing Windies in the three-match T20I series. The most prominent rise has been of by spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav who has reached 23rd place after jumping 15 spots.


Kuldeep reaches the career-best spot in T20Is

The Indian spin bowler had a good time in the T20I series against Windies. Kuldeep featured in only two games but was highly impactful.

In two games he picked five wickets but even more staggering was his economy rate. The wrist spinner conceded just 5.6 runs per over. Thanks to this stunning performance, Kuldeep has now climbed to 23rd spot in the ICC’s T20I ranking for bowlers.


Pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar whose performance has been erratic in recent times has moved to the 19th place after making an impressive progress of nine spots. Bhuvi’s pace bowling partner Jasprit Bumrah is now on the 21st spot as well.


Indian batsmen too move up in the rankings

Rohit Sharma who was the captain for the team in this series produced his fourth T20I hundred and courtesy of it has made it to the seventh spot in the batting rankings. His partner Shikhar Dhawan who scored a match-winning knock in the last T20I is now at number 16.

KL Rahul, on the other hand, failed to grab the opportunity offered to him in the series but is on number four in the rankings.


India retains the second position behind Pakistan 

Meanwhile defeating Windies 3-0 in the T20I series has given India three points. This has enabled India to further consolidate their position at number two in the points table.

India’s arch-rivals Pakistan continues to dominate the shortest format of the game as they defeated New Zealand in the recent series and pocketed two points. They now have 138 points and are nicely sitting at number one spot.
