Glenn Maxwell has recovered after Australia’s dread net session and will be facing Team South Africa in the World Cup 2019 just two days after surviving a serious injury in his right arm.
The 30-year-old Maxwell was seen in the final training where he was put through a careful session of short balls by the coach Langer seemingly unhurt at Old Trafford, ahead of Saturday’s clash, he was batting for an hour without any sign of pain or discomfort.
“He said he’s been able to hold the bat no problem,” captain Aaron Finch said before training.
“At the end of the day, I think we will leave that call up to him, if he feels confident enough to get out there and do the job.
“The one that he got just didn’t bounce quite as much as he expected, it hit him on the arm. No fault of anyone really.”
