India A has called up star batsman Shikhar Dhawan in the team to play against South Africa A for the fourth and fifth one- day games in Thiruvananthapuram. Vijay Shankar has been ruled out of the series after he sustained an injury to his right thumb.
Dhawan's struggle with his bad form
Dhawan had to leave the World Cup 2019 in midway after he got injured and suffered a hairline fracture to his left thumb during the match against Australia. When he fully recovered and made a comeback in the limited-overs series against West Indies, but his performance was not good enough. He made only 27 runs in the three T20Is and 38 runs in two ODIs.
