Faf du Plessis Catch: The Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi is currently hosting its first game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are facing the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match No.23. Both the teams have witnessed contrasting fortunes this season as CSK have won 4 out of their 5 games so far while SRH have been able to register just a single win this year having suffered four comprehensive losses. However, after winning the toss on a tricky looking Delhi wicket, Sunrisers Hyderabad have done well to post a challenging total of 171 for 3.
After sitting out in the last two games, SRH batsman Manish Pandey looked in a fabulous touch in today match against Chennai as he played some crisp shots in all parts of the ground. Pandey smashed a wonderful fifty off 35 balls and was looking in a very threatening mode towards the final few overs. However, CSK fielder Faf du Plessis took an absolute stunning catch while sprinting to his right side near the boundary line to send a well-set Pandey back into the pavilion.
But Manish Pandey played an excellent knock of 61 runs off 46 balls that included 5 fours and 1 six. He was also involved in a brilliant partnership of 106 runs for the second wicket with skipper David Warner who scored 57 runs off 55 balls. However, it was Kane Williamson’s incredible cameo of 26 runs off only 10 balls that helped the Sunrisers Hyderabad reach 171 for 3 in their quota of 20 overs. Williamson smashed a total of 20 runs in the 19th over of the innings bowled by CSK pacer Shardul Thakur to provide that extra cushion of runs on this two-paced surface. For the Chennai Super Kings, Lungi Ngidi picked up two wickets while Sam Curran got the crucial scalp of SRH opener Jonny Bairstow.
