IND vs AUS: India and Australia will go head-to-head in a four match test series in February-March. The Aussies already have a foot in the World Test Championship Final while India will have to conjure up three wins to thwart potential candidates Sri Lanka and South Africa. The WTC final will be held at the Oval in June 2023. Both teams have announced their squad for the much anticipated contest.

RAVINDRA JADEJA SET TO PLAY RANJI TROPHY TO PREPARE FOR THE SERIES

Ravindra Jadeja has been named in the 16-member squad, announced by BCCI late on Friday evening. He previously played a competitive game back in September, as he has been out with a knee injury. He recently started to bowl and bat and has proved his fitness at the National Cricket Academy. But to edge out the chinks in his game and be match ready, he is going to take part in the Ranji Trophy. Jadeja will be part of Saurasthras’s final round of the tournament against Tamil Nadu starting on 24 January.

The left handed all-rounder has been a key player in the longest format as he provides a strong balance to the playing 11. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav earn their maiden test calls in the red-ball format. KS Bharat also features and he is likely to start the series ahead of Kishan. Jaydev Unadkat has also been named, who may present a different problem for the Aussies. Rest of the squad was expected with no surprises. India is set to produce rank turners and might field upto three spinners. Can they make back to back WTC finals? Only time will tell.
