KL Rahul hits hundred: KL Rahul has silenced all his critics with a remarkable century in the ongoing IND vs ENG 2nd ODI in Pune. The right-handed Indian batsman has come back strongly after a dismal show in the recently concluded T20I series. India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series with a brilliant 66-run come from the behind win in the first ODI against England.
While being promoted to the No.4 position in the second ODI against England, KL Rahul looked in top-notch form as he smashed his 5th ODI hundred. Rahul reached his hundred off 108 balls during the 44th over of the Indian innings and the Karnataka batsman was also seen going for his signature celebration after completing the milestone.
However, just after scoring a fabulous ton, Rahul was dismissed by Tom Curran for an outstanding innings of 108 runs off 114 balls that included 7 fours and 2 sixes. Rahul was also involved in an excellent 113-run partnership with Rishabh Pant. The Punjab Kings skipper also scored a quick-fire fifty in the first ODI against England.
It was another heartbreak moment for the Indian cricket fans as captain Virat Kohli yet again failed to reach the three-figure-mark in the India vs England 2nd ODI in Pune. Kohli was dismissed by leg-spinner Adil Rashid after playing a fine knock of 66 runs off 79 balls. However, while playing his first game of the series, Rishabh Pant smashed a terrific knock of 77 runs off 40 balls that included 7 sixes and 3 fours. India have posted a mammoth total of 336 for 6 in their 50 overs after losing the toss and being asked to bat first. Towards the end, Hardik Pandya played an impressive cameo of 35 runs off just 16 balls.
