India Possible Playing 11: It wasn’t a fairytale start for Team India as they comprehensively got beaten by eight wickets against a quality England unit. The Men in Blue, while, batting first could score a modest total of 124 for the fall of seven wickets. Shreyas Iyer was the only standout performer as he scored 67 runs from 48 deliveries.
The Indian bowlers didn’t have much to offer as well, as Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar left with a wicket each.
For Eoin Morgan, his bowlers did the magic as pacers Jofra Archer, Mark Wood, Chris Jordan and Ben Stokes contributed with six wickets. As for wrist spinner Adil Rashid, he chipped in with the valuable wicket of Virat Kohli early in the innings.
That being said, Virat Kohli and the management might have to make some big calls within a short space of time if they are to challenge England in the 2nd T20I.
Rohit Sharma being rested for the first game did make the rounds, and it is likely that the veteran opening batsman gets back in action for the upcoming T20I. The bowling attack could also look different, considering the wicket didn’t provide much assistance to the spinners. A few tweaks at most might be the way to go for the hosts, as this is how the Indian eleven could shape up.
