The series between India and England has reached to a critical point, where the teams will be vary of consequences on the result of the series. After the first test was drawn, the Indian team pulled off a brilliant win and then England completely dominated the third test making the series as 1-1.
The England wicket-keeper has been valued very high in the England Cricket due to his fantastic track record in the limited-overs format, and has contributed well in the red-ball format as well. But, Buttler may miss the rest of the series against India as he and his wife Louise are expecting their second child soon. The England captain Joe Root spoke on the availability of the wicket-keeper for the remaining matches of the test series.
“That will be cleared up in the next couple of days. Hopefully, we can have some clarity on that and get that across to you as soon as that’s set in stone. I couldn’t tell you honestly either way at the minute. I don’t want to say one thing and it not turn out to be true,” Root was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
In the absence of Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow is likely to take the responsibility of wicket-keeping for the team.
All the arrangements have been done by the BCCI regarding the quarantine rules, and even convinced the England and West Indies board to allow their players to participate in the IPL 2021 Phase 2. But few of the players have opted out of the league citing personal reasons, and one of them is wicketkeeper batsmen, Jos Buttler who represents Rajasthan Royals.
The wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler played well for the Rajasthan Royals franchise in the IPL 2021 Phase 1. In the last league match he featured for the Royals, Buttler struck 124 off 64 balls to help the team in winning against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 55 runs. Due to the birth of the second child, and time needed to freshen up himself before the long cricket season, Jos Buttler will be unavailable for the IPL 2021 Phase 2 as well.
