Jasprit Bumrah Yorker sends back Jonny Bairstow: Team India are nearing a historic victory in the Oval Test against England. The visitors posted a mammoth fourth innings target of 367 runs on Day 4 for England, but their openers remained unscathed at stumps. However, the Indian bowlers have delivered a superb performance so far on this deciding final day of the fourth Test.
India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is currently in the midst of an amazing spell as he has already picked up two crucial wickets. He first got rid off Ollie Pope with a beautiful delivery. Bumrah then bowled a sensational yorker delivery to clean bowled England wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow in the second innings of the Oval Test. The 27-year-old has also become the fastest Indian to claim 100 Test wickets (24 Tests) going past the legendary Kapil Dev.
On a wicket that wasn’t doing much for the pace bowler, Bumrah showed his class by bowling yorkers and top class deliveries to provide India with important breakthroughs.
With an excellent century opening partnership and both the openers, Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed getting crucial fifties each, England would surely be hoping to be in a better situation in this Oval Test match. However, the pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have opened the gates for the visitors to claim a memorable win in this match. Jadeja has picked up the vital wickets of Haseeb Hameed and Moeen Ali while Bumrah removed Pope and Bairstow. Hameed played a fine innings of 63 runs before playing down the wrong line off Jadeja. England have already lost a total of four wickets in the second session.
England captain Joe Root is still unbeaten at the crease alongside Chris Woakes, however, the Virat Kohli-led team will be aiming to get the remaining four wickets as quickly as possible on Day 5.
