England vs India : The England tour of the India Test series is setting the benchmark for the entertainment the on-field action is providing, and off-field controversies that have been linked with it. Until the third test, there was a talk related to the pitch controversies. In the first test, the former players said that it’s a dead track and is supported to the batsmen only. Then, in the next 2 tests, the pitch was spin-friendly and even Joe Root took 5 wickets. This became the concern of the cricket community of maintaining the craze of test cricket. In the 4th test, the pitch has been better and has supported all the departments.

England vs India:  Play stopped due to Bails Missing

The incident happened on Day 1 where bails went missing after the 43rd over. Ben Stokes and Ollie Pope were batting at 47 and 17 respectively. It was the shot played by Ollie Pope at the short-mid wicket position. Rahane picked up the ball and threw it to the wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant who was not able to collect it cleanly. Surprisingly, the bails stuck to Pant’s left gloves and started glowing. It seemed that it was not intentional from  Pant and then the third umpire intervened and told the on-field umpire that bails are stuck in the wicket-keeper’s gloves.

Can India reach close to England’s score?  

England team scored 205 with hefty contributions from Ben Stokes and Daniel Lawrence. While Bairstow and Pope proved to be a good support to them as well. Axar and Ashwin picked 4 wickets and 3 wickets respectively. Siraj and Sundar finished with 2 wickets and 1 wicket respectively.

Until the time of writing this article, the Indian team is struggling to score quick runs on this wicket and are at 41/3. Shubman Gill departed early and gave his wicket to seam bowler James Anderson. Then, Pujara’s resistance could not last long as he was dismissed by Jack Leach in the 25th over. The wicket of Kohli would seriously put pressure on the Indian batting line-up.  It will depend on the pair of Rohit and Rahane that how the team progresses in his match. The lower middle-order players Pant and Washington Sundar will be important for the team in this crucial match.
