IND vs NZ, WTC Final Live: After the fourth day of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and New Zealand was completely washed out due to rain, the mood has now surely been refreshed as the intense cricket action has already begun. The IND vs NZ WTC Final action on Day 5 did start off a bit late but the Virat Kohli-led Indian team has come fighting back in this high-pressure encounter. The Indian bowlers have looked a lot disciplined with their lengths so far in the first session on Day 5.
India’s pace bowling trio of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah bowled remarkably well in partnerships to constantly trouble the New Zealand duo of Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor on Day 5 morning. The disciplined bowling brought a great reward in the form of Ross Taylor’s crucial wicket as Shubman Gill took a brilliant diving catch at the short cover off Shami’s bowling. Gill celebrated the stunning catch in style and the Indian captain Virat Kohli also looked all pumped up with the first New Zealand wicket of the morning session.
Ross Taylor managed to score just 11 runs facing 37 deliveries before getting dismissed by Mohammed Shami. However, the Indian bowlers kept on the tempo of wickets ramping high as the New Zealand batting duo of Henry Nicholls and BJ Watling failed to contribute much in this India vs New Zealand World Test Championship Final match. Ishant Sharma got the better of Henry Nicholls as Rohit Sharma took a brilliant catch in the slips while Shami bowled an amazing delivery to clean bowled Watling. After the end of the first session of play, New Zealand find themselves in a spot of bother at 135 for 5 with Kane Williamson still there unbeaten at 19 and Colin de Grandhomme is yet to get off the mark.
