According to some reliant reports, Hardik Pandya is all set to be named the permanent captain of the India T20I team starting with the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home in January 2023. Hardik recently captained India to a brilliant 1-0 T20I series victory in New Zealand. It is also learned that Rohit Sharma is very much likely to be sacked as the T20I captain and dropped from the shortest format of the game as well. Rohit had a miserable form with the bat in the T20 World Cup 2022. A lot of senior players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are not expected to be considered for selection in the India vs Sri Lanka home T20I series.

However, it will be quite interesting to see whether Virat Kohli will be part of the India T20I squad for the Sri Lanka home series or not. Kohli had a superb form during the last few months in the shorter format of the game.
