IND vs SL Live: Suryakumar Yadav, Ishant Kishan ODI Debut

SL vs IND Live: The host Sri Lanka team is currently playing the first ODI against India at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In his first-ever ODI match as captain, Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka has won the toss and opted to bat first while considering the history of the venue.

Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan ODI Debut

In a massive recent update, the duo of Ishant Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav are making their India ODI debut in this first ODI match against Sri Lanka. The Mumbai Indians’ players were handed their debut caps just before the toss and India captain Shikhar Dhawan also confirmed their inclusion. It is a great moment for both these cricketers especially for Birthday Boy Ishan Kishan.

“We were also looking to bat first as dew factor will come into play. Shaw will open along with me. Kishan and Suryakumar will make their debuts. Kuldeep and Chahal are the two spinners playing for us,” said India captain Shikhar Dhawan during the toss.

“India always have competition, there are a lot of brilliant players in the country and you have to keep scoring consistently to be on the top. It’s like a family sometimes you don’t score runs and you sit out. T20 is something different and ODIs you have a lot of time to assess the situation and play accordingly. I will take more time here, absolutely different in this format. It’s always lovely to work under Rahul Sir, we had him as a coach for U-19 team and A team. so whatever experience he shares we are mentally prepared for it,” said Prithvi Shaw before the start of the SL vs IND 1st ODI.
