Sanju Samson IND vs SL: In a massive breaking news development, India’s Sanju Samson is unlikely to be available for selection in the upcoming IND vs SL 2023 2nd T20I match scheduled to take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on 5 January, 2023. In an absolutely exciting nail-biting encounter that went down the wire, India managed to pluck out an amazing 2-run victory off the last ball against Sri Lanka in the first T20I. Team India have now taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
According to the latest update, Sanju Samson has not travelled with the rest of the Indian team to Pune as he is struggling with a niggle on his knee. It is understood that the right-handed batsman has stayed back in Mumbai for further scans and thus, he is a doubtful starter for the upcoming India vs Sri Lanka 1st T20I game on Thursday. It is believed that Samson picked up the injury while making a dive for a catch he attempted in the opening over of the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka, however, he did not left the field during entire chase on Tuesday.
Sanju Samson managed to score just 5 runs off 6 deliveries before getting dismissed while playing poor shot and now he might have to miss the remaining two games of the series scheduled on Thursday and Saturday respectively. In his absence, Rahul Tripathi is very much likely to make his India T20I debut in the second game against the Lankan side.
