Rohit Sharma IND vs WI: In a big news development, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is not playing the fifth and final T20I match against West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill. The Men in Blue registered another convincing 59-run victory against West Indies in the fourth T20I on Saturday. India have already sealed the five-match T20I series in their favour by taking an unassailable lead of 3-1.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, India’s stand-in captain Hardik Pandya revealed that regular skipper Rohit Sharma is resting for this final match against West Indies. As this is the last match of this Caribbean tour, the visitors have decided to test their bench strength and thus, have given opportunities to some young talents. On the other hand, Rohit scored an aggressive 33 runs off 16 balls in the fourth T20I and helped India get off to a flyer as he stitched an excellent opening partnership of 53 runs in just 4.4 overs alongside Suryakumar Yadav.
“We want to bat. We saw how the wicket slowed down yesterday. We want to bat on a fresher wicket. We are like we are not playing at Miami. 99 percent of the fans are supporting India. No matter what happens, we have set some standards for the Indian cricket team. We need to go out there and showcase our skill set. Obviously, the coach, the captain and senior members have done some tremendous job. 4 changes to the team,” said India’s stand-in captain Hardik Pandya.
