IND vs ENG 1st ODI: We all do make mistakes. This trait is undoubtedly coded in humans. We can’t be perfect.
A bizarre instance happened in the India vs England 1st ODI match. Peculiar for the very reason that a renowned commentator somehow struggled to rightly name a player who, almost all the cricket fans could have named even after a mere glance. Check out the video yourself.

The incident happened off Mark Wood‘s over. Shikhar Dhawan had already dispatched the English fast bowler for a couple of beautiful half-pull-shots. Wood pitched the ball short again and Dhawan, in his traditional style, pulled it towards the leg-side for the umpteenth time. The ball seemed to be travelling towards the boundary rope, but a sprinting English fielder (anonymous at this moment, err) dived (though his foot touched the rope, and later it was signalled four) and stopped the ball from jumping over the boundary.
In the process, that English player hurt his shoulder and one of the commentators said,

“Sam Billings or Jonny Bairstow?”
“I think, its Sam Billings.”

Indeed that English player was Sam Billings. We do hope he is right and ready to bat in the 2nd inning.
Still, that was funny. You expect commentators to at least recognise international players. But we all do make mistakes.

Heart-Break For Indian Cricket Fans

India vs England 1st ODI: India Posted A Commanding Total

Shikhar Dhawan was painstakingly close to a deserving century when he hit a shot straight to Eoin Morgan‘s hands. Dhawan finished on 98 runs off 106 runs, while Virat Kohli’s wait to hit an international century goes on as he was caught out off Mark Wood’s ball on 56.
KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya also hit half-centuries and pulled India beyond the 300-run mark to end on 316-5 in the end. It’s up to the bowlers now to defend the target and give India a 1-0 win.
