India vs Netherlands T20 World Cup: After a stylish victory in the tournament opener against Pakistan, the Indian men’s cricket team is set to face the Netherlands in their second group-stage game. The game will be played on Thursday (October 27) at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Earlier, on Sunday (October 23), India pulled off an unbelievable victory against Pakistan. Rohit Sharma, the skipper, chose to field first at the Melbourne Cricket ground (MCG) then. After losing early wickets, Pakistan’s Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed aided their side to put on a respectable total. Masood scored an unbeaten knock of 52 runs off 42 deliveries with five fours. Ahmed too smashed a fifty; he notched 51 runs in 34 deliveries, with four sixes and a couple of fours. For India meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya picked up three wickets each.

In reply, India didn’t start well and lost both the openers within the power play. It was Virat Kohli, the number three batter and the former Indian captain, who was at his best. The 33-year-old scored a nearly flawless, unbeaten knock of 82 runs in 53 deliveries, with four sixes and six fours. Pandya assisted him on the mission, with his steady but vital knock of 40 runs in 37 deliveries, with a couple of sixes and a four. Kohli guided India to a historic win at the MCG by four wickets.

India vs Netherlands is the second group-stage game for both sides. The Netherlands, on the other hand, played their first group-stage game against Bangladesh, on October 24. Given the target of 145 at Hobart, Netherlands lost the game by nine runs, despite Colin Ackermann’s knock of 62 runs in 48 deliveries, with two sixes and six boundaries. Taskin Ahmed’s fourfer sealed a victory for Bangladesh, anyway.
