India and New Zealand are locking horns in the three-T20I series. The first match between the nations is underway at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur while the second and the third match will be played in Ranchi and Kolkata on 19th and 21st November respectively.
Team India are off the dream start against New Zealand in the first T20I at Jaipur. Opening the bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar extracted a swing of the surface to set the tone for his side and put the Black Caps in all sorts of trouble.
It was during the third ball of the first over when the right-arm pacer bowled an inswinging delivery to send in-form Daryl Mitchell for a golden duck.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a delivery on a length that nipped back into the Daryl Mitchell, who pushed for the forward defence, and the ball went through a big gap between bat and pad to uproot the middle stump.
Here’s the video:
After the early blow of Daryl Mitchell, it seemed that New Zealand would be under pressure but batting at No.3 Mark Chapman came out all guns blazing and smashed Indian bowlers to cleaners.
The southpaw was initially watchful but as soon as he assessed the conditions, he shifted his gears and smashed 15 runs from the over of Deepak Chahar to finish the powerplay on high. He along with Martin Guptill stitched a 50-plus partnership and are looking strong.
