    India vs Zimbabwe, T20 World Cup: The Indian men are set to face the Zimbabwe on Sunday (November 6) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This will be their fifth and ulttimate group-stage game of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, in Australia.

    The Rohit Sharma-led side won its first two matches against Pakistan (October 23) and the Netherlands (October 27). The team, however, lost against South Africa on October 30. Further, on November 2 again, India beat Bangladesh in Adelaide.

    Zimbabwe, on the other hand, are placed in the fifth position in the points table, with one stunning victory against Pakistan after four group-stage games.

    It’s a balanced pitch at the MCG to say, but is better suited for pacers, as most of the Australian pitches do.

    Based on the last five T20 games played at the venue, the average first innings score has been around 150, and the average total score varied around 145. 80% of the toss-winning captains opted to bowl first. Also, 80% of the teams won the game, while bowling first.

    Until now, the MCG has hosted 20 T20Is and India have featured in five of them. The ‘men in blue’ have won three of them, with one being abandoned. Their most recent outing at the venue was against Pakistan, in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The side went on to win the historic derby by four wickets then.

    T20 World Cup 2022: India edge past Bangladesh after rain invades for a while

    Before heading into India vs Zimbabwe clash, India faced Bangladesh in Adelaide. Earlier, India put on a huge total of 184 runs for six; India’s ‘man in form,’ Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, the opener, hit half-centuries.

    In response, Bangladesh started well, with Litton Das smashing a fifty within the powerplay. However, the Bangladeshi batters couldn’t carry on the momentum after the rain interruption. The side could made 145 runs for six, where the target was 151, in 16 overs. India won the game by merely five runs (D/L method).

    Besides, after this India vs Zimbabwe derby, India will confirm their semi-final schedule. Tomorrow, three games will feature six participants in Group 2. South Africa will play Netherlands, Bangladesh will play Pakistan, while India will play Bangladesh.

    India are at the top of the points table, and South Africa are in second position. However, aemi-finalists from Group 2 are yet to be confirmed. The top two teams will play New Zealand and England, on November 9 and November 10m in Sydney and Adelaide, respectively. The final will be played on November 13, at the MCG again.
