Covid vaccine for Indian cricketers : With the hasty indefinite suspension of the 14^th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) amid the second storm of Covid 19, all the players have returned to their respective residence. The players will now look to get the vaccine administration at the earliest before they engage in any sort of domestic/ national cricketing commitments.

Though the officials had plans to ensure vaccination for all the IPL players, with the abrupt call off of the tournament, the vaccination plans stand soiled. As a result, all the players now need to get vaccinated individually in their respective localities following the guidelines.

Virat Kohli led Indian Team will square off with New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final slated at Southampton from June 18-22. Both the teams would depart comparatively early to ensure proper quarantine and adherence to the secured bio-bubbles ahead of the prestigious ICC match.

Indian Team have less than a month’s time before they leave India for England. In such a limited timeframe they would not be administered with the second dose of vaccine.

Besides, with the protocols of administering the same vaccine in both doses, any player who takes Covaxin is supposed to get the second shot of the same. But since Covishield is based on Oxford’s AstraZeneca vaccine (a UK product), Indian players are advised to take Covishield so that they can get the second dose during the cricketing commitments in England.
