Virat Kohli to Step Down as RCB Captain: In a massive breaking news, Virat Kohli has confirmed that he will step down as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. This is the second big announcement from Kohli in a short time period after he recently decided to step down as the India T20I captain after this year’s ICC T20 World Cup 2021. RCB will be playing their first match of the IPL 2021 UAE leg against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 20 September in Abu Dhabi.

Virat Kohli has captained RCB in a total of 132 matches out of which he has won 60 game and suffered 65 losses. In his shocking announcement, Virat mentioned that he will continue to serve RCB as a player until his retirement from the game. He noted that he had a discussion with the RCB team management and entire current squad before taking the call on his captaincy future. In a noticeable fact, before next year’s IPL season, there will be a mega auction and it will be interesting to see what lies in the future for Kohli and RCB.

KKR vs RCB IPL 2021 Match 31
